Marvel dropped the new Inhumans trailer, and the best part is Lockjaw

Marvel’s Inhumans doesn’t premiere until September, but we have the first good look at everything. And yes, the coolest part is Lockjaw, the giant dog.

Marvel’s Inhumans is a thing that is definitely happening — and on the small screen. Since being wiped from the Phase IV portion of the MCU schedule, there have been lots of crazy rumors. Does this take the place of that Inhumans film? Will this connect with the larger MCU, the Netflix series, or Agents of SHIELD?

There’s a lot of contradictory information. But it feels like at this point, who even cares? Because Marvel dropped the first full trailer for the show this morning.

Check it out below:

It feels like somehow this show has to tie into Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, what with SHIELD ending season four in space and the Inhumans chilling on their own Asteroid M. Despite, you know, all of the reports around how nothing of Marvel’s will ever cross over. We have to hold out hope, right?

We also have to hope that Medusa’s hair will look better come the final production. Because it still doesn’t look the best. In the comics, her hair is her power, almost a sentient part of her. She can control it, grow it to incredible lengths… if you can imagine it, she can do it. (So that scene of her being held down feels like it’s just a bit of editing trickery.)

And there’s a lot of family drama going on between Black Bolt and Maximus. It feels a little like the Thor/Loki drama, with Maximus wanting to lead Attilan and feeling Black Bolt is unworthy. It’ll be fun to see how it plays out.

But perhaps the best part of this trailer is Lockjaw, the 2,000-pound dog, and companion of Inhuman Crystal (Medusa’s sister). Lockjaw has the ability to teleport and has incredible jaw strength (in the comics, Thing can’t get him to let go of his arm). He’s going to be super awesome, and I’m willing to bet, the standout of the series.
