iZombie returns this week with a zen and mindful Liv Moore in “Eat, Pray, Liv.” Here’s this week’s synopsis.
Just two episodes in, and so far, this season has packed some emotional punches. Last week, we learned more about Clive’s connection to Wally and his family — who were found murdered in the season premiere the week before.
We also got the true and wonderful gift of Major on teenage girl brain, a treat from which I will never fully recover, and Liv on said teenage girl’s father’s brain. The crime, we learned, was committed by one of the most messed up family dynamics I’ve ever seen — a girl having an intimate relationship with her stepfather (which, yes, is statutory rape), the mother finding out and killing her daughter’s friend and her father who knew the truth. Between that and flashbacks of Clive’s relationship with Wally and his mother Anna, I was pretty emotionally spent, save for Major’s antics.
This week, however, seems like it may be much more zen.
"“Eat, Pray, Liv” — (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (TV-14, DLV) (HDTV)NAMASTE — To help Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) solve the murder of a lifestyle guru, Liv (Rose McIver) consumes his brain and takes on his zen approach to life. Ravi’s (Rahul Kohli) old boss, Katty Kupps (guest star Christina Cox, “Arrow”), is getting closer to discovering the truth while also getting closer to Ravi. Meanwhile, Blaine (David Anders) and Peyton (Aly Michalka) continue their budding friendship, much to Ravi’s (Rahul Kohli) dismay. Lastly, Major (Robert Buckley) is struggling a bit at his new job. Mairzee Almas directed the episode written by Graham Norris (#303). Original airdate 4/18/2017."
Another appearance of Katty Kupps, Ravi’s old CDC boss, has me feeling uneasy — in the best kind of way, of course. If the CDC learns the truth of what’s going on, I imagine everything starts ramping up in a big way (though, they weren’t any use in The Walking Dead, were they?). Blaine and Peyton getting closer is, I’ll admit, of interest – but where does that leave my guy Ravi? And what kind of problems will Angus’ return pose? What’s going on with Major at his new job? Can’t that poor guy catch a break?
Seems like everyone could maybe deal with some zen brains this week.

Sidenote: I go to yoga maybe once every six months and an episode about the murder of a yoga guru may bring that tally down to once a year.
