Stitch Fix, the online personal styling company, will launch trendy and versatile, plus size clothing!

According to Racked, the online personal styling company Stitch Fix will finally launch trendy plus-size clothing for women. The beauty behind Stitch Fix is the ability to have a personal stylist choose ideal clothing for your body and personality. The clothes are sent in the mail and you can try out the clothes before you buy. And you can send the clothes back if you’re not committed to the look.

Now women who wear sizes 14W through 24W and 1X through 3X will be able to shop their new selections. Even better is the company will partner with 90 clothing brands, giving women an incredible amount of choices!

If you’re interested, you’ll probably have a long wait. Right now Stitch Fix has a waitlist with 75,000 women in line. There’s a devoted landing page for the launch where you can add your email to sign up. It’s not surprising that the interest is huge. Plus-size clothing is still lacking in most online and retail stores and many women want affordable, trendy clothes that flatter their body.

Stitch Fix’s director of buying, Blake Schofield, explained how the the plus-size merchandise was chosen.

"“Our team is focused on building the most comprehensive assortment in plus-sizes by partnering with brands who have plus experience, expanding our exclusive brands into this size range, and educating our vendor partners who are new to plus-sizes on fit,” she says."

Furthermore, Stitch Fix really did their homework when picking a variety of clothing that were stylish and versatile for multiple body shapes.

"“We worked closely with all our vendor partners to create an assortment that offers diversity across style aesthetic and price point, with a strong focus on fit,” adds Schofield."

Brands, Brands, Brands

Some of the brands include:  Eloquii, Universal Standard, Kiyonna, Junarose, Slink Jeans, and City Chic, as well as plus options from Stitch Fix brands like Market & Spruce, Pixley, and 41Hawthorn.

What’s more? The company invited actual plus size women to try on the clothes and give honest reviews before the launch. Three of the women are plus size bloggers and Kristine Thompson explained her part in the process:

"They really took a more hands-on approach,” says Kristine Thompson. “They wanted to know from our experiences what our gripes were with the plus-size industry: what we loved, what we didn’t love, what we wanted to see. It was much more extensive than just a regular launch.”"

It’s refreshing knowing that clothing brands are finally getting onboard and offering plus size women with better options. I’ve spent many years frustrated with retail stores because of their pitiful offerings for women with thicker thighs, bigger breasts and love handles like me.

Women who are outsides the standard sizes deserve clothes that fit and make them feel beautiful. It doesn’t matter if we are in transition (trying to lose weight) or happily plump. We need clothes no matter what stage we’re at in life. Don’t you agree?
