Lucasfilm Releases New Han Solo Standalone Details and Cast Pic
By Buckie Wells
As production for the Han Solo standalone film commences, Lucasfilm shines a light on what we can expect from the movie and its cast.
Now that the first Star Wars Story, Rogue One, proved to be worth making and more than successful, Lucasfilm feels comfortable moving forward with their next standalone film focusing entirely on Han Solo. As the most famous smuggler and iconic, grizzly war hero, Han Solo represents another side of Star Wars left mostly unexplored. Of course, that’s the life of a non-Force user in a world torn apart by Jedi and Sith.
Of course, the Han Solo movie will also feature some other characters that we all know and love, like Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo).
According to the new Star Wars release:
"The movie will explore the duo’s adventures before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, including their early encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian."
Most likely, the scene-stealer of this film will turn out to be the Millennium Falcon. And without getting into the gritty details of the when certain things occurred on the timeline, I would not mind if this movie dedicated an entire 10 minutes to the Kessel Run sequence that made her famous.
Obviously, we know Lando lost the freighter ship first. But little else is known about the ship that’s got it where it counts.
Star Wars also tweeted a picture of the entire cast:
Nobody here is new. From left to right, we see Woody Harrelson, Chris Miller, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Chewbacca, Phil Lord and Donald Glover.

The rumor appears to be that Waller-Bridge plays the first female droid. But we still know nothing of the other female pictured here. Like, will Clarke being riding a dragon or what?
The Han Solo movie hits theaters in 2018.
