Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher have been linked together for most of their careers and now, Mark has shared a lovely note about Carrie since her passing.

Mark Hamill spoke with Entertainment Weekly recently after friend and co-star Carrie Fisher tragically passed last month. Here is the thing about the entire interview. If you’re still hurting over the passing of Carrie, maybe wait a while before reading it. For someone like me, who idolized Carrie, it was so lovely to read. But it also made me cry for about an hour.

Mark talked about how before Carrie, there really wasn’t a ‘princess’ who wasn’t a damsel in distress. But Leia broke that mold and took matters into her own hands. And it wasn’t just Leia that made Carrie so memorable. It was her ability to make everyone feel like they meant something to her: “But she still had that ability to make you feel like you were the most important thing in her life at that moment.”

But that was Carrie. Even as her fan, she made you feel as if in that moment, nothing else mattered. Mark goes on to talk about their relationship and how they grew apart and then came back together for The Force Awakens.

In the end, Mark admitted that he can’t think of Carrie in the past tense. He also admitted that he can’t imagine what Billie and her uncle are going through.

"I’m still trying to process this. I can’t think of her in the past tense. I feel so devastated that I can’t imagine what Carrie’s daughter Billie or her brother Todd are going through. It was too soon. I’m sure there is a long list of people who knew her better than I did, but our relationship was special. We were in the garage band that hit it big, and then we split up and went on our merry ways. She was something else. I met only one Carrie Fisher. I don’t expect to meet another."
