The drop of The Fantastic Four: First Steps official trailer reveals our first look at the Silver Surfer, the power of Galactus, and some amazing news for Reed and Sue. Our superhero family, consisting of Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic (Pedro Pascal), Sue Storm/Invisible Woman (Vanessa Kirby), Johnny Storm/Human Torch (Joseph Quinn), and Ben Grimm/The Thing (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) are clearly established as astronauts turned superhero idols after they gained their superpowers in space.

Regardless of their abilities and popularity, they are close-knit and capable of saving the day until Galactus arrives. His arrival, at the warning of the Silver Surfer (Julia Garner) sends the city into panic as everyone turns to The Fantastic Four to save them.

Our superhero family, especially team leader Reed, are worried and unsure if they can step up to the task and face a threat that appears to be unlike anything they have ever dealt with before. This could not have come at a worse time as Reed and Sue are about to welcome their first child together.

But even in the face of uncertainty, they are a family, which means they support and lift each other up through every doubt and failure they may come across. While this value is powerful, the trailer does not make light of how equally powerful Galactus truly is.

Will the familial bond be strong enough to defeat something unspeakable from space? What I loved most about this take on The Fantastic Four is the incorporation of original comic book source material with some minor changes, all wrapped together to tell a wholesome story of hope and love.

There have been many takes on superheroes navigating life, trying to find that balance of dealing with the most unexpected life-altering changes with the realities of going to school/college, relationships, work, homelife, etc. However, not all of them have been memorable.

Judging by the teaser trailer and official trailer alone, I still believe The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be successful and push Marvel back in the right direction. Watch The Fantastic Four: First Steps official trailer below!
