Say what you want about billionaires, but Taylor Swift is one of the better ones

Here she goes again, giving away money because she's an icon.

Taylor Swift was spotted giving away her money again, this time at the tail end of the Grammys. Just before leaving, she not only thanked but also tipped four nearby employees for their service throughout the night.

Swift is officially a billionaire, but in many ways, she doesn't appear to act like one. Sure, there's the private jet, handful of sizable homes, and the ability to pretty much go anywhere she wants anytime -- things 99% of us will only ever dream about. But there's a difference between owning a lot of expensive things you can afford and acting like it.

It would be one thing if Swift made a spectacle of tipping and donating money every time she did it -- you know that "ick" you get when a lot of celebrities do that. But look at the 2025 Grammys as an example here. She didn't win a single award she was nominated for, yet she ended the night by quietly thanking some of the workers at the event prior to exiting. She probably knew she couldn't do it subtly or without anyone noticing, but it's not very likely she did it to be noticed.

This is, of course, all speculation. I've never met Taylor Swift, don't know her personally, and have never shared the same space with her aside from being crammed into an Eras Tour arena many many rows above the stage where she performed. But when someone keeps taking their billions of dollars and donating it to average working people who more than deserve it, it's hard to deny there's at least some genuine charitable intent. She could be spending that money on her cats. Okay, she definitely spends all the money she wants on her cats too. That's the thing about having a billion dollars. It's too much money for one person to spend.

The internet likes to say there are no good billionaires, and I don't disagree. But I do like to think Swift might actually be one of the better ones out there. You can argue that we only know so much about where her money actually goes, and you're not wrong -- we only have evidence like the Grammys to make the case for Swift being an "okay" billionaire, if such a thing exists.

But let me ask you this: Why do you think most of the "bad" things we hear about Taylor Swift are about her choices in men? When there's not a lot to criticize, people go for the easy punches. That's all I'll say about that (for now).
