Solo cooking is made easy with The Ultimate Meal Planning for One cookbook
Meal planning and cooking as a single person can be a major challenge. Whether because of a lack of inspiration or an inability to come up with a recipe that wasn't designed to feed four or more people, it can be difficult to cook for one.
If you are currently or have ever lived alone, then you know that sometimes meal planning and cooking is stressful. You don't want to waste food because you made too much, and if you hate leftovers, then you might struggle to find dishes that are good for a single meal. At the same time, there is also the budget to consider. You don't want to spend $50 on a single meal for yourself, and that is definitely a possibility with current grocery prices.
Luckily for all of us single ladies and gentlemen, there is a great cookbook on the market from Simon & Schuster that makes cooking and meal planning for one easier than ever. The Ultimate Meal Planning for One Cookbook by Kelly Jaggers is the answer to all of our at-home solo dining needs. And the fact that there are some amazing recipes, tips, and tricks in this cookbook definitely makes it a must have.
Kelly Jaggers' The Ultimate Meal Planning For One Cookbook is a must-have for people who live alone or cook for themselves regularly
As the cookbook itself tells us, there are "8 weekly meal plans designed for one" in this book and there are over 100 recipes that are not only relatively affordable, but also lower waste. At the same time, there are plenty of easy recipes in this book that will make you feel less stressed in the kitchen.
I had the chance to check out this cookbook for myself and I am in love. Not only does it take the guesswork out of meal planning and even prepping, but there are some amazing recipes in this book. The cookbook also breaks down the nutritional information for each recipe and includes shopping lists that make getting things done easier than ever.
This cookbook has every section you would expect for a meal, including breakfast recipes, pasta and noodle dish recipes, snacks and treats, vegetarian main dishes, dessert recipes, and of course meat based recipes. While most of the recipes specifically say that they serve one, there are some that serve two, which is also a nice approach to this idea of meal planning for one. It gives you the option of leftovers for later or enjoying a meal with a friend.
Honestly, I have to say that I already have some favorite recipes and I haven't even had this cookbook long enough to try every recipe. Some of the recipes I recommend checking out right away include the ham and cheddar scones, the cacio e pepe, the spinach and feta-stuffed mushroom, shrimp and grits, and the lemon blueberry poundcake, to name just a few.
This is the kind of cookbook you want to break open repeatedly, both for inspiration and to make sure that you are making a dish that you won't waste. And I definitely think this is a great gift for a friend who is single, someone moving into a new place, and even just people who struggle with meal planning. I am a big fan of this cookbook and can't wait to try even more of the recipes that are part of these different meal plans.
What do you think of a solo cookbook and meal planning guide? Is this the kind of cookbook you need in your kitchen?
