Selena Gomez surprises high school volleyball team with a special visit during Telluride Film Festival
It was quite sweet when Selena Gomez not only posed with her movie Emilia Pérez at the Telluride Film Festival but also came to cheer and take pictures with the Broomfield High School volleyball team. They simply wrote the message with a felt pen on a piece of paper; decided to put it on Main Street, and while visiting there, she decided to do it as way to make the students and her fans happy.
The sign, crafted on a bright orange poster board, was addressed directly to the pop star: The next line said ‘Selena Gomez,’ the letter continued ‘Please sing the National Anthem at one of our home games: Fri 6:00 pm, Sat 1:00 ~ THS Volleyball Team. ’ Whether Selena sang the national anthem or not the attention that the event got simply because of Selena was enough.
This she shared on her Instagram account with the caption “They asked!! Couldn’t help it, it’s my first time in Telluride!” The videos and pictures used in the post, show her walking around the team, hugging them, taking pictures, and even signing autographs.
The pop star’s surprise visit became one of the major attractions of the weekend: amateur videos with the pop star in the venue circulated online. In one video, Gomez can be heard explaining her reason for attending the game: “I saw the sign!” her passionate and friendly nature endeared everybody in the company of the gymnasium.
Emilia Pérez directed by Jacques Audiard is a Spanish-language musical crime film with a great cast featuring Zoe Saldaña, Karla Sofía Gascón, Adriana Paz, and Gomez. The film, which won the Cannes Film Festival special award for directing and which seven actresses shared the best actress award for, premiered in the U. S. at the Telluride Film Festival. It has since been bought over by Netflix and will be up on Netflix for streaming on November 13th.
The star’s surprise appearance at the volleyball game is a wonderful experience for the Telluride community plus it leaves an individual touch to Gomez’s overall busy weekend at the festival.
