Lizzo embarks on a transformative gap year in Bali to 'protect her peace'

Lizzo, the singer with recent pop hits and an empowering message for women, took to Instagram recently to inform fans that she’d be taking a year off, from the paradise of Bali.

On Sunday (Aug. 25), Lizzo shared in her Instagram story that she is “Taking a gap year & protecting my peace”. The recent picture is a peaceful one that features a pensive Lizzo who seems to be loving the healing aura of Bali and maybe she will never leave.

For the past couple of days, the singer has been taking her fans through a sneak peek of her Bali getaway. In one of her posts, she wrote: “Unfortunately I’ll be posting way too many bikini pics,” but you guessed it she loves her curves and flaunts them shamelessly. This appears to be the theme being strongly advocated by the star as she lets out her energy and essence of the ‘Good as Hell’ song.

Lizzo also posted a video on IG Stories, where she is seen skipping rope on a stunning balcony in Bali, the speed of the video is accelerated, underlining that the singer is serious about a healthy lifestyle even during her travel break.

This break comes after Lizzo, who has been quite vocal about her mental health issues all through the year, has had a very difficult year. This decision comes just after she has been subjected to massive public criticism, and sexual harassment claims from three former tour dancers that culminated in a lawsuit that was put on hold in March so as to allow for appeals to be made. Lizzo has vehemently dismissed the accusations calling them sensationalized tales.

This week alone, Lizzo had the pale of complaining about daily abuses by people on the internet claiming that it has become exhausting to meet people with something nasty to say. “I am so sick of being dragged by everyone in my life as well as people on the Internet,” she posted. The singer could not even try to wiggle out of feeling quite discouraged by the posts but, concurrently, she asserted that she would not quit music. It is important to note that what she is not going to quit is what gives her the most pleasure and that is music, which is sharing with people.

Hence, the analysis proves that Lizzo is unstoppable in the music chart with her 2022 album, Special, debuting at no. 2, on the Billboard 200 chart and her single “About Damn Time” occupying the no. 1 spot on the Hot 100.
