The music scene in the United States has been abuzz with various happenings. One of the most significant updates is the announcement of the lineup for 2024's Global Citizen Music Festival.

Global Citizen Festival is an annual event organized by the world's leading organization dedicated to ending extreme poverty. It has unveiled its initial lineup for 2024. The star-studded event will take place in New York at Central Park's Great Lawn. The date is set for September 28, 2024.

The headliners for the 2024 Global Citizen Festival include Post Malone, Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, and Rauw Alejandro. Actor Hugh Jackman is the Global Citizen Ambassador and he will host the concert. Notable attendees will include UN Messenger of Peace Jane Goodall and Global Citizen festival curator Chris Martin from Coldplay.

In a statement, the organization emphasized the urgency of addressing global issues including the ongoing hunger crisis, and the spread of infectious diseases, rising debt, and record-breaking heat. They also highlighted the reduction in foreign aid contributions from governments, particularly G7 countries. These countries have proposed cuts this year. Despite these challenges, the organization reiterated the importance of supporting frontline organizations and investing in lifesaving solutions.

Doja Cat expressed her excitement about joining the festival once again. She stated "It's been a few years since I was last on the Global Citizen Festival stage in Paris. I'm excited to join forces with Global Citizen. Once again. We'll be in Central Park this September. We aim to drive as much action as we can to make the world better place."

As in previous years, tickets for the event are free. They can be earned by taking action on the Global Citizen app or website as fans can demand change from governments. They can also demand change from private sector leaders on various issues. The issues include increasing support for anti-poverty programs, protecting and restoring the Amazon rainforest, committing to equitable access to nutritious food, stronger health systems, and quality education around the world.

Hugh Jackman is a longtime supporter of the Global Citizen mission. He stated "For over a decade Global Citizen has driven life-saving impact for nearly 1.3 billion people around the world. We'll gather once again on Sept. 28 to help end extreme poverty. Defend planet. Demand equity. I can't wait to see you all on Central Park's Great Lawn. To collectively call for change on behalf of the world's most vulnerable communities."
