Epic Universe invites guests to step into other worldly portals
Universal Orlando Resort has always put storytelling front and center in its theme park experiences. Whether it is guests waving their wands to cast magical spells or racing guests at high speeds away from the chasing raptors, theme park guests appreciate that an immersive, fantastical experience is waiting to be enjoyed. At its fourth theme park, Epic Universe, a set of portals turns one step into a journey unlike any other.
Although Orlando residents have seen the newest Universal Orlando Resort rise from the barren ground, appreciating the intricacies waiting to be discovered beyond the construction walls has been speculation. Even though some helicopters capture overhead visuals of dueling roller coasters and colorful scenes, the anticipation for what could be continues to grow.
As seen in the recent Epic Universe announcement, this theme park will be unlike others from the entertainment company. With multiple, unique lands to explore, guests may need multiple visits to experience all the theme park has to offer.
Epic Universe will have five lands, Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. While some people may have guessed about the themes, the additional details offer more insight into these immersive spaces.
As the gateway to the other worlds, Celestial Park blends a lush garden ambiance with a hint of Victorian era grandeur. With a splash of aquatic influences, the balance between mythical and terrestrial appears seamless. From the family inclusive rides to the impeccable dining options, this entry point will captivate guests at every turn.
Looking at the other worlds, the Super Nintendo World is a known quantity. Given that Universal Studios Hollywood is celebrating the attractions one year anniversary, some people will be familiar with the power ups and interactive features. Still, that gamified experience keeps each visit fresh.
Many people are excited about the How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk. With a dueling roller coaster, that attraction will appease many people who miss the dueling roller coaster in the Wizarding World. Even though the recent Halloween Horror Nights offered a taste of that beloved attraction, many people want that side-by-side thrill ride.
In addition, the visuals for the How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk seem to be a scene directly from the story lines. It appears bigger than life and family inclusive. It will be interesting to see how Universal Orlando will incorporate immersive food and beverage experiences into this land.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic is a continuation of the other attractions. Given the intricacies of the other attractions in Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios, the bar is set high for this land.
The Dark Universe area may appease some people who want more horror inspired attractions. Although Universal will be opening a horror-centric attraction space in Las Vegas, this idea seems to be more novel based than movie world. The delicate balance between highlighting the dark and twisted world of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein without stepping too far over the edge will be tested.
The excitement builds as the countdown to 2025 quickens. With each new reveal, guests will be hoping to make their way under the new arch to a tremendous adventure unlike any theme park people have experienced.
Epic Universe from Universal Orlando Resort is set to open in 2025. Additional details on the theme park, opening dates, and pricing will be revealed at a later date.
