New romance books being released in December 2024

After months and months of writing this romance book release posts, it's finally coming to the end of 2024. It's been such an intense year for romance books and romance readers.

Regardless if you started reading romance this year or have been reading it for decades, it feels like romances are more inclusive than ever. No matter what you're in the mood for or are wondering about, there is a romance out there for you.

Maybe it's due to the rise in BookTok creators or more people visiting their libraries, but it's just awesome to see romance getting so much love. In addition, we're getting more and more romance movie and TV adaptations.

2024 was a great time to be a romance reader and it's obvious we'll have loads more to look forward to in 2025. Until then, we still have some 2024 romance release to talk about before the month ends so let's break it down.

These romance books are all being released in December 2024.

As with all of these lists, make sure to check out your favorite bookish website if you're looking for even more amazing books coming out in December. While December has notoriously been a slow month for releases, there are still some great romance books to look forward to so let's get into it.

• A Cruel Thirst by Angela Montoya (Dec. 17)
• Ex Marks the Spot by Gloria Chao (Dec. 31)
• Dating and Dragons by Kristy Boyce (Dec. 31)

Most of the time when making these lists, I focus on adult romance and some new-adult picks. As mentioned though, December is a slow time for publishing so the final two titles are both young adult romances. While that's not everyone's cup of tea, it's worth a mention.

If anything, you could pick up a few of these December romance releases and still find time in your schedule to read some Christmas books and get caught up on the titles you missed out on in 2024. It just depends on how much time you have as the holiday season approaches.
