AJR recently announced a new EP called What Know One's Thinking, ahead of their summer tour. While a release date is yet to be announced for that, fans have already gotten a small taste of the EP as they debuted the first single on Sunday, June 29, 2025, during a concert in China. The title single is called "Betty."
Their new EP is a play on words of their first EP and only other EP, What Everyone's Thinking, which was released in September 2016. It is rather cool to see the group have such a full circle moment with their music.
Perhaps, the band will even play some tracks from the first EP as they have hinted at on their Instagram, during their Somewhere in the Sky tour this summer, which is set to begin in under one month on July 20. Fans can also expect a music video for "Betty" soon, as the band also shared a quick behind-the-scenes look at the video on their Instagram.
The video will likely be released the same day as the single on July 9, 2025. The band debuted videos in the past live on YouTube with a live chat feature, which will be something to watch out for in the next 10 days. The band has also prompted their fans to pre-save the song on their music platform of choice, as many artists do in this day and age.
Moreover, it will be interesting to see if Betty will be the only new song fans will hear live this summer, if there will be one or two more new songs sprinkled in as well. Because this is AJR, fans have come to expect the unexpected. One thing that is certain is one member will be missing from the trio this summer, and that is older brother Dr. Adam Met, who has stepped away from the band for the summer to focus on the release of his first book. This is not the first time AJR has played without Adam; they played a few shows last fall overseas without him as well.
