Savannah Chrisley mourns the death of ex-fiancé Nic Kerdiles
Savannah Chrisley is dealing with another heartbreak. The reality star’s ex-fiance, 29-year-old Nic Kerdiles died in a motorcycle crash on Sept. 23, 2023.
Kerdiles was a famous star in the NHL, playing for the Anaheim Ducks and the Winnipeg Jets. His professional ice hockey career only lasted five years, and after leaving the Jets, he began a new career as a Nashville real estate agent.
But Kerdiles’ relationship with Chrisley would make him a household name. The couple began dating in November 2017 and Kerdiles became a fixture on her reality series Chrisley Knows Best.
Kerdiles proposed to Chrisley on Christmas Eve 2018, however, in September 2020 they called off their engagement. According to PeepsWiz, their split was amicable. Chrisley later said the two had “love, respect, and admiration for each other.”
Savannah Chrisley shares a touching tribute to Nic Kerdiles
Kerdiles’ tragic and untimely death sent shockwaves across the sports and entertainment community. Condolences immediately began pouring in for the late NHL star.
Chrisley is one person who is taking Kerdiles’ death hard. This past weekend, she shared a touching tribute to her late fiance on Instagram. In her post, Chrisley shared a slideshow featuring photos and videos of the couple.
“Nicolas Henry Stephan Kerdiles…I wish you could see all the people that are showing up and loving you right now. I can see that grin of yours so clearly. You left such a mark on this world and it’s so empty without you…” Chrisley began the caption.
She continued, “It is impossible to believe that you are really gone. I am not sure how to even absorb that news.” Chrisley went on to explain how she’s feeling numb and keeps texting Kerdiles’ phone, hoping he’ll respond.
Chrisley’s post then reflected on her and Kerdiles’ relationship. “I had just turned 20 when we met, you were only 23, we were just kids learning about life and love and trying to make it all work,” she wrote.
“We had some really great, bright moments, and we had some really hard ones, but the part of our relationship I will hold on to will always be the moments in the middle. It will be the day-to-day life we got to share for 5 incredible years.”
When reflecting on their breakup, Chrisley wrote: “Just because some things don’t work out, or don’t last forever, doesn’t make them less special or less meaningful. We learned how to love together. We learned how to be adults and entrepreneurs and professionals. We tried new foods, explored new cities, and created so many memories along the way.”
