Taylor Swift’s ‘The Eras Tour’ is coming to U.S. theaters this October
By Meg Dowell
If you live in the U.S. and weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour this year, you can still experience the magic this October.
Even though the first U.S. leg of the tour wrapped up this month — and won’t be back here for another year — a cinematic version of the tour will play in movie theaters across the country beginning on October 13. Thirteen is an important number for Swift, so it was the perfect day to release this film out into the world.
This means it’s going to be a busy month for Swifties, since 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is set to release on October 27, not too long after the movie.
Swift made the announcement on Instagram, writing: “The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon.” Dancing and friendship bracelets are highly encouraged.
AMC Theaters are committed to offering the film at each one of their U.S. theaters, so you should be able to get tickets to a showing in your area. But even if you don’t have an AMC theater near you, Fandango may offer showings in other theaters close by.
Swift and her team are determined to make sure every Swiftie across the globe who wants to see this tour gets the chance to do so, and showing a version of it in theaters is going to open this up to so many more fans. It’s pricier than your typical movie ticket, but much more affordable than a ticket to the actual tour (about $20 versus hundreds), even with a trip to the concession counter.
Even if you’ve seen The Eras Tour in person, you can soon experience it again — this time with more friends, popcorn, and all your favorite movie theater snacks.
Tickets for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour are on sale now.
