Writing a book isn’t easy, especially a thriller yet Freida McFadden is a writing machine. Her latest release is The Coworker.

Published by Poisoned Pen Press, this is one of the most unique psychological thrillers I’ve ever read and is one I was able to read in one sitting. Sometimes, that isn’t always possible with thrillers but I was so captivated.

You might recognizer McFadden from her other releases including The Housemaid, Ward D, and The Perfect Son. Regardless if you’ve heard of this author or read something of hers before, I don’t think you can go wrong by starting with The Coworker as your first book of hers.

I’d like to thank Poisoned Pen Press for the amazing pitch and also for sending me a finished copy as I know, I’ll be returning to this one again

The Coworker is an unexpected thrilling delight.

As this book is a thriller, I don’t want to get too much into detail so I’ll try to keep the plot as brief as possible. Dawn Schriff is an accountant for Vixed and she’s frankly a little strange but is also consistent. That’s why when Natalie comes to work and Dawn isn’t there, she immediately becomes worried. From there, it’s a race to find out if Dawn is dead or alive while Natalie is trying to clear her name.

With most thrillers, I feel like you have an idea of how the plot is going to go and for a majority of this story, I had an idea. However, Freida McFadden completely shocked me with what she decided to do. The way everything was connected and all of those small moments were just excellent. I can see why The Housemaid got as much hype as it did because these books are unputdownable.

This was my first book by Freida McFadden and I know it won’t be my last. Her books are so easy to sink into and before you know it, you’ve read half of it. That’s exactly how I felt about The Coworker because everything was coming together and before I knew it, I was coming to the end. It was just so much fun and I couldn’t believe how this book ended.

The twists and turns in The Coworker were everything I was looking for. This one is perfect for beach reading or is something to help you get ready for Halloween. Either way, this one was incredibly fun and I’d highly recommend The Coworker for anyone needing some chills and thrills.

The Coworker by Freida McFadden is out now where books are sold.
