And Just Like That will return for a 3rd season

Season 2 of And Just Like That is officially in the books. The season finale of the HBO Max series aired on August 24, 2023. The episode featured the long-awaited cameo from Kim Cattrall, who reprised her role as Samantha Jones.

Samantha is seen calling Carrie from the back of a cab, explaining she couldn’t make it to New York for the Last Supper party. In true Samantha fashion, she wanted to pay respect to Carrie’s old apartment. After Carrie put her on speaker, Samantha exclaimed “Thank you for everything you f******, fabulous flat.”

Aside from Samantha’s cameo, the finale ended with a cliffhanger involving Carrie and Aidan. The couple reconnected earlier this season and were going to move in together. But his son’s car accident has Aidan realizing he needs to go home to Virginia.

But he’s not ready to give up on Carrie and asks if she can wait five years for him.

And Just Like That has been renewed for Season 3

Season 2 certainly had fans buzzing, and the finale left them wondering what happens to their favorite characters. The audience will get those answers because the show has been renewed for a third season.

In a statement, the show’s executive producer Michael Patrick King shared his gratitude for the renewal.

"“We are thrilled to spend more time in the Sex and the City universe telling new stories about the lives of these relatable and inspirational characters played by these amazing actors. And Just Like That…here comes Season 3.”"

No official release date has been announced and it’s expected most of the cast will return. However, don’t expect any more cameos from Cattrall. In a June 2023 interview with Today, Cattrall revealed her Season 2 cameo was a one-time deal.

"“That’s as far as I’m going to go. I don’t think I’ll ever say goodbye to Samantha. She’s like a lot of other characters that I’ve done over the years. I get very emotionally attached and protective of my characters. She gave me so much and I’m so appreciative of her.”"
