The past year has been tough for Jennifer Aniston. In November 2022, her father, Days of Our Lives star John Aniston died at the age of 89.

John’s death has been difficult for Jennifer, who is struggling with her grief. Luckily, she’s got a huge support system and is receiving comfort from a special person, her ex-husband Justin Theroux.

According to Daily Mail, sources claim Theroux calls Jennifer every other day to check on her. News of Theroux’s concern about his ex-wife comes as no surprise because the two have remained friends since their divorce.

A look back at Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s relationship

Jennifer and Justin first met in 2007 when they were introduced by their mutual friend Ben Stiller. The introduction kickstarted a friendship that reconnected when during the filming of Wanderlust. By May 2011, they were dating and a year later they were engaged.

After a three-year-long engagement, the couple tied the knot in August 2015. However, it wasn’t long before breakup rumors circulated and in February 2018, they announced their divorce.

Unlike many celebrity divorces, Jennifer and Justin’s split was amicable. The two remain friends and are in constant contact via calls, texts, and Instagram. The two also hang out whenever they visit each other, recently in April 2023, they were spotted having dinner with Jason Bateman and Amanda Anka in New York.

Maintaining his friendship with Jennifer was important to Justin. In a 2021 interview with Esquire, he talked about their bond.

"“I would say we’ve remained friends. We don’t talk every day, but we call each other. We FaceTime. We text. Like it or not, we didn’t have that dramatic split, and we love each other. I’m sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship. We can not be together and still bring each other joy and friendship. Also, she makes me laugh very, very hard. She’s a hilarious person. It would be a loss if we weren’t in contact, for me personally. And I’d like to think the same for her.”"
