Kelly Ripa’s daughter Lola worries about being a Nepo baby
Talk show queen Kelly Ripa is a proud mom. The Live! host and her husband Mark Consuelos are the parents of sons Michael and Joaquin, and daughter Lola.
Now that her children are grown, they’re embarking on their own careers. Lola, 22, is pursuing her passion for being a singer. However, the young woman knows she’s got a tough road ahead of her.
Lola Consuelos worries about being labeled a Nepo baby because of her parents
Like many celebrity kids, it’s natural for them to want to follow in their parent’s footsteps. Lola is just one of the many Hollywood offspring pursuing a career in showbiz. However, she’s not set on being an actor or talk show host like Ripa and Consuelos.
Lola’s ambition is to make it in the music industry. Since 2022, she’s released two songs. Her latest single Divine Timing was released on July 14, 2023.
Lola is gaining recognition with her songs, however, the recent college graduate knows most of it stems from her parents. The trend of Nepo babies has sparked a debate in the entertainment industry. Many critics argue that Nepo babies get more opportunities because of their family name.
It’s one of the things Lola knows she has to deal with in her musical career. In an interview with E! News, she opened up about being branded a Nepo baby.
"“Obviously there’s always the elephant in the room of whoever my parents may be, but I’m really lucky that aren’t in the music industry and they actually know nothing about it. So, of course I’m going to have to prove myself more, but I don’t think it makes it any less difficult for me just because they aren’t singers. The pressure should be on regardless.”"
While the young singer has critics, Ripa remains her biggest supporter. The talk show host posted an Instagram photo promoting her daughter’s latest single. “She’s here and she’s a summer jam!” Ripa captioned the congratulatory post.
