Kate Middleton wowed the crowd during Wimbledon 2023. She made quite an entrance when she arrived in her mint-green blazer and white skirt. Fashion experts note that her ensemble echoed an outfit worn by the late Princess Diana back in 1988.

Kate Middleton wore a stunning mint outfit at Wimbledon

Kate was a vision in green at this year’s Wimbledon championship. She was dressed to impress. Most of the attention was on her blazer. The double-breasted jacket, which was designed by Balmain, featured a white lapel and buttons. Kate highlighted the blazer with a white pleated skirt and white Gianvito Rossi heels.

As patron of the All England Lawn and Tennis Croquet Club, the princess made sure to include a nod to them. In honor of her role, she wore a green-and-purple bow pin on her blazer. She wears the pin each year as a way to honor the club, reports Harper’s Bazaar.

Royal expert Darren Stanton says Kate’s attire was different from her usual outfits. She typically wears bold colors (red and blue are her favorites) during public events, so this was unexpected.

“Kate’s outfit was a slight change from her usual outfit choices,” says Stanton on behalf of Betfair Bingo. “I think she’s paying some sort of homage to the fact she’s at Wimbledon, as she wore white and green. The pistachio jacket is a slight switch for her. We often see Kate in bolder colors when she wants to make a statement.”

How much is Kate Middleton’s mint-green Wimbledon blazer?

If you want to copy Kate’s Wimbledon look, be prepared to shell out a lot of cash. The blazer will set you back $2,750. The skirt, which is thought to be from designer Christopher Kane, costs $775, according to Middleton Maven. The Princess of Wales completed her look with a white leather purse designed by Mulberry.

Princess Diana’s style

Many of Kate’s outfits are reminiscent of the late Princess Diana. Fashion experts compared her Wimbledon outfit to a green ensemble worn by Princess Diana when she was standing on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the 1988 Trooping the Colour.

Kate also wears a lot of polka-dot outfits. This is a style choice Diana was often seen wearing. The last time Kate wore polka dots was during a recent 75th anniversary event for the United Kingdom’s National Health Service.
