Actress Jennifer Coolidge reveals why she never had kids

Jennifer Coolidge is riding high after experiencing a career comeback. The Legally Blonde actress’ career has spanned over two decades and features memorable comedic roles such as her role as Sherri Ann Cabot in the Christopher Guest comedy, Best in Show or the aforementioned manicurist Paulette Bonafonté in Legally Blonde, but Coolidge is now receiving acclaim for her Emmy-winning role on the hit HBO series The White Lotus.

Like many celebrities, Coolidge’s personal life is often discussed with great intensity. Though the 61-year-old never married or had children, she has opened up about her decision as to why she is not trying to settle down.

Jennifer Coolidge reveals the reason why she never had children

Throughout her career, Coolidge has played a mother on TV and in film. One of her most memorable roles was as Stifler’s Mom in the American Pie franchise.

While Coolidge is accustomed to playing a mom onscreen, in her real-life, the actress has never had children. In a recent interview with British GQ, the actress reveals her reasoning behind not becoming a mom.

"“I’m very, very immature. I think that has kept me from having children because I’m sort of a child. Maybe if I had kids, I would’ve had to have grown up.”"

Marriage was also something that Coolidge’s mentioned isn’t in her future either. Although the Golden Globe winner has had boyfriends in the past, she never found ‘Mr. Right’. The actress cites not finding the right guy as another reason why she never had kids.

"“I’ve never had, like, a laid-back boyfriend that was just full of joy, you know? Like, someone who laughs at all your shortcomings. That’s never who I choose for myself.”"

Despite the interest in her personal life, Coolidge’s career is continuing its resurgence thanks to roles in more contemporary television such as HBO’s The White Lotus. Unfortunately, the actress won’t be returning for Season 3 because her character Tanya McQuoid was killed during Season 2.

Coolidge has several projects in the works, some of which, she is keeping a secret from her fans. Whatever’s next for the Boston-born actress, fans can’t wait to see her back on the big or small screen as soon as possible.
