Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) is so close we can almost taste it. Taylor Swift gave us a look, though.

Somehow, Taylor Swift always manages to one-up herself. Not only did she announce that “Cruel Summer” was finally becoming a single but also released some limited Speak Now merch. That’s not the end of it, though.

Swift shared that there was going to be a snippet of “Back to December” featured in the latest trailer for The Summer I Turned Pretty. The series inspired by Jenny Han’s books featured some of Taylor’s other songs in the first season so it’s only appropriate for Season 2 to feature a Speak Now track.

The track in question is “Back To December” and honestly, I couldn’t have fallen more in love with this song than upon hearing that small clip.

“Back to December” by Taylor Swift popped up in an amazing new clip.

If you’re a fan of The Summer I Turned Pretty, then this trailer might be enough for you. If you’re also a Taylor Swift fan, then it’s a double dose of fun. During the course of the trailer, we end up hearing a clip of Taylor Swift singing “Back to December” yet it’s Taylor’s Version.

I do love the Speak Now era although it isn’t my favorite. However, “Back to December” is one of my favorite songs by Taylor Swift. I was originally concerned about how it would sound and what changes she would make but I am absolutely floored.

This new snippet of “Back to December” featured in the trailer does an amazing job of giving us just enough of the song without giving us too much. The vocals sound so crisp and fresh which is the one thing I always adore about the re-recordings. “Back to December” sounds so melancholy and sparkly which is something I can’t get enough of.

Whether you’ve watched the series or not, you can’t deny that this newly re-recorded version of “Back to December” is a delight. Of course, I’d like to know what you think.
