This year marked Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s fifth wedding anniversary. A royal expert says the duke and duchess’ marriage seems stronger than ever. He predicts positive days ahead for the couple.

Meghan and Harry tied the knot on May 19, 2018. It was a star-studded affair. Some of the special guests included George Clooney, Serena Williams, and Oprah Winfrey. During her Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan, she spoke about how excited she was to get married.

"“On the day of our wedding, it’s like I went into a really calm space. I don’t know how I was so calm. I look back at that. How was I so calm? And all I wanted was a mimosa, a croissant. And to play the song ‘Going to the Chapel.’ Oh, that’s what I did. And it was great.”"

Despite some of the naysayers, royal expert Darren Stanton believes Meghan and Harry will have a long marriage. In a statement, Stanton says many couples grow stronger after going through stressful or traumatic events. He believes the stress they said they experienced while serving as senior royals brought them closer together.

“Any trauma, stress, or major life event helps form the foundation of any relationship, as it makes a couple stronger,” says Stanton on behalf of Betfair Casino. “If the foundation is weak, then the relationship will not last.”

Stanton went on to say the couple appears to be “stronger than ever.” In his opinion, all of the difficulties that have occurred in their lives have been a good thing for them. Harry and Meghan look to each other for support. This seems to have helped them develop a strong bond.

In his statement, Stanton says he believes Meghan and Harry will persevere through all the ups and downs. Despite some of the negative media attention they have received, he thinks they will rise above it and thrive.

“I definitely believe they are in it for the long haul,” adds Stanton. “I do think they will last the course of time.”
