Rockstar by Dolly Parton looks to be a showcase of talent
There is no artist quite like Dolly Parton. I mean even just hearing the name Dolly brings images to mind.
In addition, Dolly has a look you won’t forget and a voice you’ll fall in love with. All in all, she’s one of a kind and one of the hallmarks of women in country music.
Like every great artist though, Dolly has learned to adapt to the music landscape and that’s never been more apparent than in her recent announcement. Dolly Parton announced the lead single, tracklist, and release date for her upcoming rock album.
Entitled Rockstar, the album seems like it’s shaping up to be a showcase not only for Dolly Parton but for those she admires in the rock world.
Rockstar by Dolly Parton looks to be an exciting venture for all.
Rockstar by Dolly Parton is her first foray into rock music and honestly, she dove headfirst and isn’t looking back. The tracklist consists of 30 songs with most of them being collaborations between Dolly and some of her famous friends. Honestly, it’s pretty astounding the number of people working with her.
If the number of people wasn’t enough, Dolly is giving us a showcase of so many things. Firstly, it’s sure to be a testament to how amazing her vocals are. I don’t know many artists who would try to cover that many songs on one album. Impressive is the only word I can use to describe that because most albums rarely have more than 20 tracks.
Additionally, Rockstar seems like it’s going to be one of those albums that has a little bit of something for everyone. Some of the songs Dolly is covering are “Every Breath You Take,” “Purple Rain,” “We Are The Champions” and “Let It Be.” Honestly, those are some pretty iconic songs but if anyone can do them justice, it’s Dolly Parton.
As for some of the famous voices lending their talents to Rockstar, there is Sting, Miley Cyrus, Michael McDonald, Lizzo, and Stevie Nicks. Dolly really didn’t pull any punches with this album and honestly, it makes me all the more excited to hear the rock version of Dolly.
Thankfully, we don’t have long to wait for Dolly’s first single from the album. “World On Fire” is going to be the first single and will be released on May 11th. It’s also going to be performed by her at the ACM Awards. Dolly is, of course, hosting with Garth Brooks for 2023 so it’s a lot to be excited about.
Rockstar by Dolly Parton will be released on November 17th, 2023.
Until then, you can check out the rest of Dolly Parton’s amazing catalog or even some of her famous friends appearing on Rockstar.
