Children’s books make up a huge part of the publishing market so it’s nice to feature some on Culturess including Little Troublemaker Makes A Mess by Luvvie Ajayi Jones.

While picture books tend to get lost in the shuffle, you might be surprised at what kind of picture books are being published now. In particular, I feel like Little Troublemaker Makes A Mess isn’t tailored to just one age range.

Regardless, the book is marketed towards 4-8-year-olds which makes sense as it’s a bit more complex than a traditional picture book. Regardless, there’s a lot going on within these pages and the story in general.

If you’re even remotely interested in Little Troublemaker Makes A Mess by Luvvie Ajayi Jones, we have thoughts.

Little Troublemaker Makes A Mess is an adorable story with a great message.

While Luvvie Ajayi Jones is known for many things, this book is actually her first foray into children’s literature. Little Troublemaker Makes A Mess follows little Luvvie and her sister who are left alone while their mother goes on an errand. While she’s busy, Luvvie decides to try and cook something for all of them for dinner.

Of course, as you might imagine, things don’t go exactly as planned. Regardless, the book doesn’t focus solely on Luvvie’s consequences. While she does end up getting in trouble for making a mess, things are quickly cleared up and the book stresses why everyone in the story made the choices they did.

Additionally, Little Troublemaker Makes A Mess featured some beautiful illustrations done by Joey Spiotto. Coupled with the message between the pages, I feel like this book would be an ideal gift for a teacher or someone who has little ones at home. Plus the book even concludes the recipe Livvie was trying to make.

All in all, this isn’t my typical read, but I enjoyed it because I was able to share it with my nephew although he’s a bit young to understand all the messages. Either way, it’s a lot of fun and has the potential to bring up some great discussions. I think if you’re looking for a gift for a teacher or if you have littles in your life, this is worth looking into.
