There is something about a dynamic duo. Peanut butter and jelly. Batman and Robin. Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton.

Okay, I might have lost you on that last one. Even so, there isn’t much to be caught up on though as Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton are joining forces to host Miley’s New Year’s Eve bash on NBC.

Most of us recall last year’s pick of Pete Davidson and as attractive as it could be again, NBC decided to switch things up. Coming up with a host to replace Pete Davidson isn’t exactly easy as Davidson is pretty much everywhere these days and has been spotted with a plethora of women this year alone.

Regardless, there was only one person who could fill the shoes Pete Davidson left behind and that’s Dolly Parton.

Dolly Parton is the perfect person to replace Pete Davidson and pair with Miley.

When thinking of a replacement to pair with Miley Cyrus, I’m sure none of us imagined Dolly Parton would be her 2023 co-host. However, it feels like the perfect pairing in so many ways as firstly, Dolly is Miley’s godmother. Despite it being featured as a plot point in Hannah Montana, Parton really is Miley’s godmother and the two have a close relationship.

Secondly, the two have such mutual respect for each other as artists. The two have performed together multiple times and have covered each other’s songs. Hopefully, we’ll either see the two perform together during Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party or at least, see one solo performance from each of them.

Lastly, there is something so fun about this combo because it’s sort of playing both ends of the spectrum. Miley caters more to the younger generation while Dolly is more relatable to the older generation. There are also a lot of people who fall within the middle or those who love both Miley and Dolly as artists. Somehow, seeing these two paired up is exactly the type of good vibes we need going into 2023.

If those reasons weren’t enough to convince you, then both Miley Cyrus and Dolly Parton appear together in a promo video for the festivities. While it’s short, you can tell these two are going to have a ton of fun, hosting together.

Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party will air on NBC and stream on Peacock on December 31st, 2022 starting at 10:30 pm EST.
