The Grinch is in his Grotto for the holidays in the Springfield History Museum in Massachusetts

DR. SEUSS' HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS - The curmudgeonly recluse Grinch, who hates Christmas, becomes annoyed with the out-of-control Christmas festivities in Whoville, the town lying below his cave dwelling on Mt. Crumpit. But after the Grinch conspires to deprive the Who's of their favorite holiday by sneaking into town on Christmas eve to steal everything associated with the holiday, he learns that the spirit of Christmas goes much deeper than tinsel and toys. Forget Santa Claus this Christmas, we want to visit The Grinch in his Grotto instead! While Santa might be one of the more iconic images of Christmas and the holidays, there is another character who has certainly stepped up to make a name for himself.

The Grinch has proven to be a rather magical holiday addition to so many things. From visiting Hershey to actually getting a float in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, this is a character who knows how to steal a spotlight. (In fact, stealing is something he is kind of known for.)

While we love the classics and Rudolph, Santa, and even Frosty, the Grinch and his trusty sidekick Max have definitely joined the pantheon of holiday characters we love to see pop up once October ends. And if you happen to live in or around Springfield, Massachusetts or you have plans to visit the area on the weekends from now until December 31, then you may want to visit The Grinch’s Grotto at the Wood Museum of Springfield History!

Home of Dr. Seuss and so much more, the holidays are getting a bit greener thanks to the arrival of The Grinch’s Grotto.

Forget pictures with Santa in 2022, we are all about visiting the Grinch and his Grotto

If you are anything like us and you love Dr. Seuss, the Grinch, and of course Max (the bestest boy), then this could be the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit. It’s also a great way to enjoy a little history, explore the worlds that Dr. Seuss created, and just do something different in Springfield, Mass.

According to the museum’s event page for this holiday experience,

"Exclusively available at the Springfield Museums, the Grinch’s Grotto gives you and your loved ones a rare opportunity to visit his special cave and strike a pose or two. The Grinch’s Grotto is in the midst of a Who-ville space with interactive stations sure to amuse the whole family. Grow your heart three sizes with the joy of this immersive experience!"

Sounds like fun right? And not only that but even if the Grinch is away from his Grotto, there is still a Grinch selfie station available for making memories.

If you have never been to the Wood Museum of Springfield History, this is the perfect time to change that and have a little holiday fun with the Grinch himself. And not only that, but you can even see the last car that the author ever drove around in, complete with Grinch’s license plate, as his car is currently on display at the museum as well.

We are loving everything about this experience and the only thing that would make it better was if Max was in the Grotto too (yes we see the picture of the iconic pup, but where is he?)!
