On Nov. 11, America will honor and celebrate the men and women of our Armed Forces via the Veterans Day holiday. It’s a day often full of celebrations across the nation honoring the millions who have and are currently serving in the military.

Like many holidays on the calendar, Veterans Day is a federal holiday which means many individuals get the chance to enjoy a three-day weekend this week. This also means that many businesses that tend to operate during normal business hours on Nov. 11 will close their doors or maintain limited hours in observance of the holiday.

Because of the holiday, it can be hard to know what businesses will be open or closed. Chances are if you’re reading this post right now, you might be planning a trip to the bank on Friday and are currently wondering whether the bank will be open tomorrow or if it will be closed for Veterans Day.

Are banks closed on Veterans Day?

If you need to make a trip to the bank, you’re going to want to make sure you do so before Friday or after as banks across the nation will be closing their doors on Nov. 11 in observance of the Veterans Day holiday.

Like on all federal holidays, major banking chains including Chase, Wells Fargo, Fifth Third, Bank of America, Capitol One, and more will not be operating during their normal business hours on Friday due to the holiday. Because of the holiday, banking businesses are also not expected to start the processing of payments made via online banking until the next business day as well — so that is something you might keep in mind on Friday.

You will still be able to utilize ATMs located at bank branches to complete select tasks as well such as making withdrawals from active accounts.

Now, if you happen to bank at a locally owned banking brand, there is a chance your bank could be open on Friday, so it couldn’t hurt to call ahead just in case.
