What’s next for Taylor Swift amidst the success of Midnights?
Taylor Swift is proving why she’s such a beloved artist and it’s clear her fans aren’t going anywhere. Midnights broke the record for the most-streamed album in a single day.
For Taylor Swift, that’s just a typical Friday. We, here at Culturess also enjoyed the album and can see why it broke records. While it might not have been what a lot of us expected, the album does start to grow on you.
However, the major question is what is Taylor Swift going to do next? While her Midnights era has now started, it’s clear she isn’t going to be settling down for long and will soon be working on her newest project.
Heading into the end of 2022 and the beginning of 2023, what project should we expect from Taylor Swift next?
Let’s predict Taylor Swift’s next project after 2022’s Midnights.
Taylor Swift is one of those artists who is constantly evolving and changing yet still moving forward. With each change, her fans always support her and even a plethora of new fans join the gaggle. However her latest era aside, what could we see next from Miss Swift?
Personally, I think the next Taylor era is going to be another re-recording. Looking at her discography thus far, she’s only re-recorded two of her previous albums which were Fearless and Red, both Taylor’s Version. Looking at her previous works, there is Taylor Swift, Speak Now, 1989, and Reputation.
Each era shows a different side of Taylor, but considering all of the songs focused on revenge on Midnights, I feel like either Speak Now or Reputation has to be her next project. Honestly, I’d bet more on Reputation because I feel like Taylor is entering her villain era and I’m here for it so I’d love to see her tackle Reputation in the near future versus one of her other albums.
While Midnights was a surprise to most of us, it wouldn’t be unheard of to see Taylor release another original album. Re-recordings are no doubt a lot of fun, but can probably be a bit limiting for her. She’s having to relearn and resing all of her old songs along with some vault songs, too.
All of this isn’t even factoring in a tour that might be happening although there haven’t been any official announcements from Taylor yet. Regardless, that plays a big role in what we’ll be seeing from her next. If she does end up going on tour though, re-recording seems like a much better fit than her original material. However, Taylor really hasn’t stopped working and doesn’t look like she’s slowing down anytime soon either.
Maybe I’m thinking a bit far ahead as the Midnights era just started. Considering how genius Taylor’s marketing has been for this album though, I wouldn’t be surprised if she already has all of her re-recordings planned out. Until then though, we’re still in the Midnights era which is more than enough.
What do you think is next for Taylor Swift? I’d love to know your predictions in the comments.
