If there’s one thing there’s not enough of in romance books, it’s coffee shops. That’s why this week’s #TBRTrending had to be Cups of You by Karmen Lee.

For a lot of us, our first introduction to romance was via fanfiction, and what trope is incredibly popular? Coffee shop stories and it’s safe to say that the trope is still alive and thriving. I’m sure you can name at least four or five romance books you’ve read with a coffee shop setting.

There is just something so comforting and cozy about a coffee shop romance. Considering that a lot of us are feeling the brisk chill of fall, Cups Of You gives all of those cozy vibes that you’re probably looking for if you’re curling up in a blanket.

Plus this book has less than 150 ratings on Goodreads which should be a crime because it’s just so delightful so let’s discuss.

This week’s #TBRTrending goes to Cups of You by Karmen Lee.

This book has a lot going for so let’s start off with the basics. This is a Black love romance between two people who frankly don’t have much in common. Amber is returning to her hometown to take care of her injured aunt while Ben owns the local coffee shop and is a notoriously sunshiney guy.

Amber is surprisingly cold to him upon their first meeting, but the two eventually warm up to each other, especially over Ben’s coffee. While this book is just over 207 pages, this is such a slow and sweet romance that you’ll honestly be screaming at them to kiss already when it feels like things are moving like molasses.

Aside from a sweet romance, this book has a lot going for it. There’s a meddling aunt, some toxic ex drama and Ben is a single dad. All in all, this book manages to feature so many storylines without letting any of them overshadow the romance. Plus you’ll want to have a cup of coffee in hand by the end of it, too.

What made me love this book though is how much the two characters grew within a short amount of pages. It was clear Amber needed to work through some things before being with Ben and she did it. As for Ben, he needed to work on making himself more of a priority and realizing that he didn’t always have to do everything himself.

Overall if you’re looking for a cozy small-town romance you won’t want to put down, then Cups of You by Karmen Lee is a TBR must-add. Plus it’s on Kindle Unlimited if you’re subscribed. It’s just a lot of fun and one that is criminally underrated so I had to feature it.
