Finding something for your little one to watch isn’t always easy. However, Firebuds is trying to make your decision a bit easier.

If you’re a parent or caregiver, you’re more than likely aware of Disney Junior. If you’re not, then let me enlighten you. Disney Junior is a network owned by Disney which focuses on kids between the ages of 2 to 7.

Some popular Disney Junior shows you might have heard of are Bluey, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, and The Lion Guard. Honestly, there is no shortage of quality kids’ content on the channel.

However, the network’s latest entry, Firebuds is looking to be another mainstay amongst the rest of the beloved shows currently being aired.

What is Disney Junior’s Firebuds series about?

Looking to the show’s press release, “Set in a fantastical world where talking vehicles live, work and play with the humans who drive them, Firebuds follows a boy and his firetruck as they team up with their first responder friends to help others in their community with problems, both big and small. Whether rescuing a young car that’s stuck in a tree, tracking down lost Dalmatian puppies or helping their neighbors stock up on emergency supplies during a blackout, the Firebuds highlight the importance of teamwork and helping your fellow citizens”

Keeping along with what the press release shared, the mission of Firebuds is to get kids to learn more about their community and culture. Additionally, themes of teamwork, empathy, commitment, and selfishness are all interspersed within the series, too.

If you’re looking for a bit more, the show worked with the non-profit RespectAbility to ensure the disability representation was respectful and accurate. Additionally, the cast and crew of the show are made up of all different ages, races, and ethnicities along with one of the show’s writers, Krystal Banzon. Banzon shared her own experiences to help shape Bo’s character as they’re both Filipino.

A Firebuds musical moment

After learning about the show, you might be curious about what you can actually show to your kids before the show premieres.  Of course, you can check out the music video for a song being featured in the series.

If your little one is anything like my nephew, they’ll be up, dancing before you know it. However, if you want more, then you’re in luck as the Firebuds soundtrack is now available. The Firebuds official soundtrack was released on September 16th if you want a bit of a sneak peek into what this season is going to hold.

Firebuds is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 21st on Disney Junior at 10:30 am EST.
