Almost ten years since Fifth Harmony first became a girl group, it’s incredible to look back at their inception, reception, and now take over as a group and individual artists. The group came at a time when the biggest girl group before them dated back to Destiny’s Child. While Camila Cabello’s departure in December 2016 got attention – more damaging, than non – the artists have gained success far beyond their days on the X-Factor and as a collective. Here is where the ladies of Fifth Harmony are at now.

Unknown to many, the girl group actually finished in third place on their season of X-Factor. While the girls did not get enough votes to advance to the Top two, they quickly were signed to a record deal only one month after the season ended.

Multiple AMAs, a Billboard Women in Music award, iHeartRadio Music Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and additional awards and sales later, the women continue to rise in the music industry.

Ally Brooke

Ally competed in season 28 of Dancing with the Stars and placed third alongside pro-dancer, Sasha Farber. Shortly after, she released an autobiography titled Finding Your Harmony in October 2020.  She signed a new record deal with labels Duars Entertainment and AMSI in August 2021 and is still working on her debut album (which will be an all-Spanish language album).

Normani

Normani is also hard at work on her debut album but has released singles along the way. She released her first solo single, “Motivation” in August 2019 and has released “Diamonds” with Megan Thee Stallion, and “Wild Side”, featuring Cardi B since then. Her duets have found her just as much success. The duet “Dancing with a Stranger”, where she sings with Sam Smith reached the top ten charts in the US and UK. Her first duet,  “Love Lies” (2018), with Khalid also topped the charts, reaching number one, and earning a  5× platinum certification.

Dinah Jane

Dinah also has a new record deal under L.A. Reid’s HitCo Entertainment and released her first EP, Dinah Jane 1, on April 19, 2019. She was set to go on tour in January 2020 but it was shortly postponed after the COVID-19 pandemic. No new projects have been announced as of yet.

Lauren Jauregui

Lauren is on tour soon as the opening act for singer Banks. Her debut EP was released on November 5, 2021, with singles that included “Colors” and “Scattered”.  She has also experimented with Spanish-language music with the 2020 single, “Lento”.

Camila Cabello

Camila has continued to remain consistent in the music industry since her departure from the group. She released her debut studio album, Camila, in 2018. With help from her first single “Havana”, the album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200. She has collaborated with artists such as Shawn Mendes and Machine Gun Kelly and is a two-time Grammy nominee. She has also done acting and has a position as a judge on The Voice. Her third studio album, Familia, was released on April 8, 2022.
