Although the marriage of Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker just took place, their love story has taken place since the last season of E!’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians. And while it might be better tasked for any fan of the Kardashian family to describe the journey the two have taken together, it is easy for any individual to see why it has been the highlight of the new Hulu series, The Kardashians.

Why Kourtney Kardashian is the new favorite sister

Before there was Travis Barker, there was Scott Disick. For years, Disick, the father of Kourtney’s children, has become a fan favorite. It could even be argued that he is a favorite of the family, as he has appeared for most if not all of the 20 seasons the family had on the E! Network. However, what has not been liked by many is the love story between the two.

For many earlier seasons, fans saw the pair have children together but never legally married. Although Disick proposed to Kourtney, the two decided to separate but kept co-parenting their three children – Penelope, Mason, and Reign Disick.

Afterward, fans saw on screen and off as the two decided to date different individuals, such as Disick’s relationship with Sofia Richie and Kourtney’s relationship with Younes Benjima.  When Kourtney confirmed that she was dating Travis Barker in January 2021, fans saw that Kourtney was embarking on a new relationship that looked like it was going to last.

Did fans root for Scott? Yes. But have fans also rooted for Kourtney to find a love that lasted? Yes.

After Scott’s on and off therapy and issues with alcohol addiction, fans rooted for the two after a reconciliation in 2010. You wanted the pair to get “a happy ending.” Although Kourtney found out with someone else years after, fans are still rooting for Scott to get his happy ending but understand why it could not happen between the pair.

While reality television is met with claims of being scripted television, there is nothing more natural about this situation. And that is why Kourtney is now the favorite Kardashian sister. She made you believe happy endings exist and kept going until she found it.
