Universal Monsters Collide at Halloween Horror Nights
As it is a little more than halfway to Halloween, the countdown to Halloween Horror Nights has begun. In a recent Universal Halloween Horror Nights announcement, the first of many haunted house experiences was announced. Are you prepared for Universal Monsters Collide?
Over the past several Halloween Horror Nights events, Universal has highlighted its classic Universal Monsters. From the Bride of Frankenstein to a journey through those classic monsters, the nostalgic characters still bring the fright.
In some ways, the classic characters go into deep-rooted fears that can cause the most primal screams. Who hasn’t felt the chill of something breathing on the back of the neck or wondered what could be lurking in the woods? Even though the stories might be classics, the creative minds behind the Universal Halloween Horror Nights team will bring all new fears to the storytelling.
According to the Universal creative team, Universal Monsters Collide brings together Dracula, The Wolf Man, and The Mummy. All three monsters are looking for The Amulet of Ra. As the monsters battle for the prize, guests will have to survive the battle.
Since Universal appreciates that these Halloween Horror Nights experiences are more than just frightening visuals, it has tapped SLASH to provide an original composition for the Universal Studios Hollywood offering. While SLASH has worked with Universal previously, it would be nice to have this option in the Orlando offering as well.
Speaking of Universal Studios Orlando, many people were surprised to hear that Monsters Café abruptly closed. Many people enjoyed dining with the old-school Universal Monsters theme. Even though no one was lurking around the corner, the experience was one that many enjoyed.
Still, the announcement of Universal Monsters Collide and the progress being made at Epic Universe, which is believed to have a Universal Monsters land, does give fans a glimmer of future frights. It might not be the announcement that people were hoping for, but it is something. Until then, the tribute store is open to bringing a few dark moments to enjoy before the lights go back on.
Halloween Horror Nights 31 at Universal Orlando begins on Friday, September 2, and runs through October 31. The Universal Studios Hollywood event runs from September 8 to October 31. Both events are available on select nights and are separately ticketed events.
