Bridgerton Season 3 will focus in on the Penelope and Colin romance

A new romance will blossom in the upcoming third season of Bridgerton!  Penelope Featherton (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) will take their budding relationship farther after it was hinted at in the season two finale.  The two began as friends, which is a common ground for love.

During the ATAS panel at  Netflix’s FYSEE Space this past Sunday evening (May 15th), Coughlan elaborated on the fate of #Polin in the Regency-rea drama developed by Shonda Rhimes and what’s ahead for the two of them.

"“Like Lady Whistledown, I have been keeping a secret for quite some time and I can confirm to you all that season 3 is Colin and Penelope’s love story. I have kept that secret since two weeks into season 2. This is the first time I am saying it here.”"

Yet, while they take their love to the next level and hopefully explore all its potential, Penelope intends to keep her secret identity under wraps, despite being unveiled to the viewers at the end of season one.  It might be a challenge, but if Penelope is determined enough, Colin will never notice or know, despite that he was the one who first discovered her alter ego in the books.

Her Lady Whistledown alias was discovered by Colin’s sister, Eloise, in the season two finale that aired last March.  In the first season finale, viewers were the first ones to witness Penelope’s secret.

Furthermore, the buildup will be an awarding one for the fans as this was something that their hearts were set on.   Much like the first two seasons that showcased explicit sex scenes with couples, season three will reflect the same.  The tenderness and specialness will also be present when airing these sequences.

As a bonus, while Penelope’s personal struggle with her body and weight was very much a theme in the fourth book, it’s erased in the series as her confidence and unique beauty outshines it.  With that said, it will make #Polin feel much more at ease and naturally comforting.
