Another month and another round of romance books to look forward to. For the most part, April was a pretty slow release month when it came to the romance genre. However, with summer almost upon us, it’s the perfect time to finally pick up some romances.

As per last month’s list, this is going to be a mixed bag when it comes to sequels and standalone reads. Of course, these books are ones I’m excited about this upcoming month. But you can always make sure to look on Goodreads when you want to find others.

For most of us romance readers, summer is the perfect time to pick up some contemporary romance reads. It’s nice to be able to pick up a book and lounge outside, or even in the coolness of the A.C.

Regardless of what you like though, hopefully, you’re able to find something new to add to your TBR or you’re able to find a book that will bust you out of a reading slump. Either way, let’s get into some May 2022 romance books you need on your radar.

Here are some May 2022 romance books you should have your eye on.

Keeping with last month’s theme, it’s only right to talk about sequels first. The first sequel releasing May 17th is actually the second book in the Witches of Thistle Grove series and that’s From Bad to Cursed by Lana Harper. The first book, Payback’s a Witch was one we enjoyed at Culturess so a sequel following Issa who is Talia’s younger sister from book 1 sounds awesome. It’s an enemies-to-lovers romance between her and Rowan which combined with Lana Harper’s writing sounds great.

The other sequel that made the cut is Everything For You by Chloe Liese which is book 5 in her Bergman Brothers series. This one is set to release on May 10th and is a grumpy-sunshine romance with Oliver Bergman and Gavin, one of his soccer teammates. Considering this is Chloe Liese’s first m/m romance in this series, this one is especially exciting.

Moving onto this next category which is debuts with Set On You by Amy Lea. This is a romance between a girl who is a curvy fitness influencer and a guy who works out at her gym who wrongs her. This book has such a delightful cover and it sounds like it’s going to be a fun and steamy story.

Last but certainly not least, are two historical romances by authors who usually write contemporary stories. The first is A Caribbean Heiress in Paris by Adriana Herrera. This is a marriage of convenience romance between Luz, an heiress, and Evan, an earl. It sounds like it’s going to be unlike anything else in the historical romance realm right now.

Last but not least, is A Lady for A Duke by Alexis Hall. Despite Alexis Hall already publishing one historical romance this year, he’s giving us another. This time, it’s a second-chance romance between Viola and Justin, a duke. As with all Alexis Hall books, this book is going to be queer and sounds like it’s going to be the perfect read for this spring and early summer.

While there are some more popular ones, especially Book Lovers, these books are ones you might not have on your radar as much. Hopefully, you’re able to find a new favorite read from this list.
