WASHINGTON, DC – SEPTEMBER 21: Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) arrives for a news conference to introduce legislation that would give the Department of Health and Human Services the power to impose a federal eviction moratorium in the interest of public health, on Capitol Hill September 21, 2021 in Washington, DC. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

Over the last few years, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (commonly called AOC) has made an impact on the political stage. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, AOC has made a name for herself as a Congress Woman from being the youngest woman to serve to her progressive agenda that includes pushing the Green New Deal and Medicare for All.

While she may seem controversial to some, AOC has proven that she will not be silenced and we are here for strong women like her who continue to use their voice even when there are those who would try to stop them.

And while she has long been considered an activist, as a politician she has been considered a face for the Democratic party and their efforts to reform the system. Even when it doesn’t seem like she is putting herself out there, she is still making waves and taking steps towards changing our country. (Although, she definitely made a statement with her MET Gala appearance in 2021 wearing a dress that said “Tax the Rich.”)

Whether she is fighting childhood hunger, trying to reform education, or looking to push for healthcare for everyone, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is doing her part to make a difference with her role in the government.
