Taylor Swift’s career has been long and sometimes even longer than people remember. While she’s known for being a music superstar now, her roots began in the world of country music, something that rarely comes up when talking about her now.

However, Taylor Swift changed the game when she came onto the scene in 2006. Her debut album entitled Taylor Swift gave us all of the teen angst and lovely feelings we had been hoping for at a young age. Then with her smash hit follow-up Fearless, we all wanted to fall headfirst in love and become as brave as Taylor seemed to be.

As Taylor’s career grew, she eventually phased out of the country scene and moved to the pop world. Since then, her music has transcended, but it’s clear country music still holds a place in her heart. That’s why it’s so cool that we could see her making a return to 2022.

Taylor’s CMT Awards performances have always been iconic. Especially when she performed “Picture To Burn” in 2008. Will 2022 be the year when Taylor finally makes her return to the awards with a win or even a performance?

Could 2022 be Taylor Swift’s exciting return to the country music world?

As someone who is both a Taylor Swift fan and a country music fan, Taylor being nominated for CMT Award is an amazing feat. Considering the impact Taylor has made on country music, it’s only right for her to finally come back to country music. However, it’s obvious why some country music fans would be perturbed.

However, the song that’s nominated is “I Bet You Think About Me” (a collaboration with Chris Stapleton). If there’s one song of Taylor’s to make the cut, that would be the perfect one, as Chris Stapleton is an amazing country artist. Additionally, the two were nominated because of the music video. As far as music videos go, it was iconic and easily one of Taylor’s best.

Even so, the song is up against some heavy-hitters in the country world including Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, and Brandi Carlile. Even if Taylor doesn’t win, it’s still going to be nice to see her return to her roots. A lot of us became fans of Taylor when she was a country star. Considering she’s revisiting and re-recording those albums, it would only make sense for her to stay. Even though we haven’t heard anything about Taylor re-recording her debut, seeing her back in the country world only makes me more excited.

While Taylor has a huge chance of winning, she might get beaten out by one of the other artists. That’s okay! I’d even be happy if Taylor Swift decide to perform with Chris Stapleton. That would be the perfect venue!

Seeing Taylor Swift at the CMT Awards is what we need in 2022.
