Big Time Rush is back and hitting the road in summer 2022
2022 has been full of surprises and I’m sure none of us had Big Time Rush going on tour on our bingo card. However, that’s exactly what’s happening and it’s everything fans of the beloved band have been waiting for.
For those who didn’t grow up with Big Time Rush, then get ready to get educated. Originally formed back in 2009, the band consisted of four members: Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow, Carlos Pena, and Logan Henderson. The quartet was reminiscent of other bands at the time including the Jonas Brothers, the Wanted, and One Direction.
What made them different was that Big Time Rush got its start on Nickelodeon. The show ran for four seasons, with 74 episodes and a movie. Originally released in 2009, the show ended in 2013. The band went on hiatus in 2014. Since then, the members of BTR went their separate ways to pursue other projects.
However, in 2020, the band gave fans a special treat with them singing “Worldwide” during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Then in 2021, the band finally announced they were reuniting. and released a new song at the end of the year. Now, the band is set to return on tour in 2022.
2022 is set to be a huge year for Big Time Rush and its fans.
When an artist goes on Good Morning America, we all know something big is coming and Big Time Rush didn’t disappoint. The band finally decided to announce they were going on tour. After almost ten years of waiting, this is incredibly exciting, especially for those of us who didn’t get to see the band during the original tours they went on.
With the announcement of a tour comes the potential for the band to release an album, merch, and so much more. It’s all so exciting, as Big Time Rush deserves all of the success in the world.
As far as popular bands in the early 2010s go, Big Time Rush never seemed to get as much love as others, like the Jonas Brothers or One Direction. It is nice to see them together and the recognition they’ve always deserved. I’m super excited to hear even more new music from the band and hopefully, see them perform some of our old favorites.
