With the new year upon us, there is always a need for new. And with 2021 having been a year for reboots and returns, one person we have not heard from in the music world is Rihanna. Rihanna has always been a loved artist. Here are five reasons we need new music in 2022.

Okay. We don’t need her to be Taylor Swift. And that’s not a knock on Taylor Swift. But it seemed like year after year, single after single, album after album, Rihanna was focused on being the confident and strong person we know her to be. Ever since we saw her start dating A$AP Rocky, she seems happy. When are we going to get the genuine, relationship album?

Did we forget Rihanna is a billionaire though? She is now worth $1.7 billion. Maybe music is the last thing on her mind. But with her hitting this stage in her life, she is probably in a different mindset that carries much more wisdom. It would be great to see her have that carry through in her music.

Rihanna has always been confident. We know that. But with her Savage X Fenty campaign, we have seen make waves to give that same amount of confidence to many more individuals. That stronger Rihanna would be great to see in new music.

With the world that we are in now, especially with everything that the world is going through at the moment, it’s cliche but real to say the world can benefit from hearing a new album from her. Did the world not benefit from a nice distraction when Adele came back?
