Just days before Christmas, a movie debuts that Matrix fans have been looking forward to for a very long time, ever since Neo (Keanu Reeves) and Trinity (Carrie-Ann Moss) appeared to die at the end of 2003’s The Matrix Revolutions. The fourth film in the franchise, The Matrix Resurrections, releases on HBO Max and in theaters on December 22nd, and the newest trailer gives Neo and Trinity fans a lot to look forward to.

Just when we thought we understood what The Matrix was about, along comes this fourth movie to tell us everything we knew might not be right. In this newly-released trailer, Neo and Trinity are reunited but not in the way they remembered.

The fighting in The Matrix Resurrections is right on point.

Not surprisingly, Neo and Trinity face down more demons in this brief clip, but it’s enough to let us know that the action is at least on par or better than anything we’ve ever seen in the previous movies. With Trinity and Neo trying to figure out what’s going on in their lives while rekindling their love, the agents are back to block their path which has Neo breaking out some of his signature movies from the original movies. And all the fans who are on the edge of their seats waiting for December 22 have flocked to this latest official trailer.

Having debuted on December 6th on Warner Bros Youtube channel, it has already amassed close to four million views, 101,000 likes, and over 9,600 comments. The one thing it doesn’t have? Any dislikes as of the time of this writing. So it won’t come as a shock to anyone when this movie explodes in streaming numbers on HBO Max and rakes in at the box office.

The Oracle suspected that we would see Neo again, and she was right! There might be a few of us (or many of us) as excited about this movie as we are about Christmas!

Next. Let’s explore some potential theories about The Matrix Resurrections. dark
