The 22nd Annual Latin Grammy Awards are significant as ever this year. They will honor music released from June 1, 2020, to May 31, 2021. The release period was in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the Latin Grammys are set to air on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, let’s review the nominees and performers. Here is what you need to know.

The 22nd Annual Latin Grammys rundown

Bad Bunny has had his rise in urban music and American pop culture. Just check out his appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Although Bad Bunny does not speak fluent English, he has also been able to have a run on the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) and perform on their Wrestlemania show. With a schedule that was kept busy during the pandemic,  his music always transcended cultures no matter the language. It is with so that his Album of the Year nomination and Best Urban Music Album nominations are not a surprise.  He was everywhere.

Someone that was also everywhere was J Balvin. If you went to McDonald’s or were on social media you heard of the J Balvin meal. It was a  Big Mac sans pickles, fries with ketchup, and an Oreo McFlurry. This arguably inspired the celebrity meals that followed. If you’re into sneakers, you know he had a sneaker that followed.

The two artists will also be going up against each other in the Best Urban Song category. The full category includes:
