What will Hope Mikaelson be like as a full Tribrid? “See You on the Other Side” completes Hope’s transformation to the most powerful supernatural creature and then takes a drastic turn at the episode’s end.

While viewers get a glimpse of Hope’s changes with the transition, there is only a brief amount of time to see the differences Hope portrays after becoming a vampire. Immediately after fulfilling her destiny to kill Malivore, which also ends Landon’s life, Hope flips her humanity switch.

So, who is Hope as a vampire? What will Hope be like without her humanity?

Caring deeply about people has always been a massive part of how Hope lived her life and made decisions. But, by the nature of being a vampire, everything is amplified. Although that may make the positive and good moments better, to feel everything at a higher level could also be just as devastating as the lows are also far worse.

Hope is sadly used to losing people close to her and has struggled through it each time. However, having dealt with tragic deaths in the past, killing Landon is the last straw, and feeling everything at a much higher capacity would also cause her grief to become unbearable. So, rather than relying on her friends to help Hope through a difficult time, she turns off her humanity.

“See You on the Other Side” gives a quick look at No-Humanity Hope just before she attacks Alaric and leaves him injured on the ground.

Hope had always been the show’s hero, so to have the protagonist become the antagonist is an exciting element to Legacies as Hope is now on an entirely new journey. When and how will she find her way back to herself? Will Rebekah play a role in helping Hope find her humanity again?

For most of Legacies, the series has portrayed a lighter tone than its predecessors, but with “See You on the Other Side,” the show has effectively announced that things may not be that way again for a while.

Legacies has been teasing a darker tone, and not only does “See You on the Other Side” continue that, but it also sets up some important questions for what comes next.

Such a change will give the show fresh energy as the Super Squad must determine how to handle Hope as a Tribrid and what it means for their group dynamic. How will Josie and Lizzie respond to Hope’s vampire side, especially after she left them a dangerous message to leave her alone?

Taking on a darker story gives the main characters a chance to grow and discover more about themselves and the lengths they are willing to go. But will the Super Squad remain on the same side, or will conflicts make them turn on each other?

Luckily, at least some good things came out of the final battle. Hope finally killed Malivore, ending his terrorizing of the Salvatore Students and Mystic Falls residents. Josie successfully saves Cleo from Malivore’s void just as Hope’s blood takes effect, destroying everything there.

Overall, “See You on the Other Side” and Legacies as a whole seem to be moving in a much darker direction, and with Malivore dead, the series has a chance to begin new and exciting storylines.
