Megan Thee Stallion will be a college graduate.
Megan announced her upcoming graduation in an Instagram post that showed her holding a graduated cap adorned with a lyric from her song “Hot Girl Summer” that has the phrase “Real hot girl s***”. She has expressed candidly in the past that a big reason she wanted to get her degree was to make her late mom proud. Her mom passed in 2019 after battling brain cancer. Around the time of her passing, Megan also lost her grandmother.
She told People, “I want my big mama to be proud. She saw me going to school before she passed. My grandmother that’s still alive used to be a teacher, so she’s on my butt about finishing school. I’m doing it for me, but I’m also doing it for the women in my family who made me who I am today.”
With such a monumental achievement that is to come, Megan has announced that she is thinking of opening a center for her classmates to get their post-college experience. She has expressed that she wants to use her degree but wishes to continue to make music. By opening up an assisted-living facility, she is allowed to use the skills she learned in school and have her creative outlet as a musician.
Although she still has time before she graduates from Texas Southwestern University, it is admirable that she will be able to do so as a part-time student. There is much to come from Megan Thee Stallion as she shows us what it means to have girl power!
