We finally have another look at the highly anticipated film The Batman. Starring Robert Pattinson as the brooding billionaire, we get to see Bruce Wayne as he explores his role as a brand new vigilante in Gotham City. The trailer dropped during the annual DCFandome virtual event, giving fans a chance to get their best look at the film yet. So how was it?

The trailer starts with a rainy night in Gotham as a man sits with his head dropped staring into a coffee cup. The Gotham PD aggressively arrest the man, yelling at him and shoving him – it almost seems like a bit of police brutality until we look into his cup. It’s The Riddler.

Bruce Wayne is young and incredibly reckless. He’s putting his body on the line, fighting criminals as though everyone under his fist killed his parents. It only escalates when The Riddler begins seeking him out, wanting to talk to the man behind the bat while enacting chaos throughout the city.

We also get to see the relationship between Bruce and Selina Kyle (a.k.a. Catwoman) form as one of mutual feelings towards the world around them. These broken people have been able to come together, despite being on different sides of justice. It looks like Bruce may even go too far for Selina as she seems shocked by some of his actions.

Speaking of action though, this trailer is packed to the brim with it. He’s fighting giant groups of thugs, speeding through the streets after Penguin. He even appears to be completely bulletproof as he walks into gunfire multiple times and appears barely affected. This is a Batman that is completely and utterly focused on vengeance and everyone in his way is going to be flattened.

Check out the trailer for yourself:

I am SO EXCITED about this movie now! I mean, I was before, but holy crap this trailer sold me even more. The fact that he’s super reckless is really interesting to me. The first teaser showed a fraction of the anger he seems to have. We’re so used to seeing a calm and composed Batman for the most part, so the fact that he is almost like a wild animal – anything could happen!

I want to babble about this movie so much more but for now, I’m just going to keep hitting the replay button on the trailer.
