The Circle season 3 is arriving so much sooner than we expected

It’s only been a few months since we last cozied up around The Circle, the megapopular Netflix social media reality competition. Season 2 of the show only just named a winner back in May, so most of us were settling in for another good long wait for the show to return. Joke’s on all of us though, because The Circle season 3 is already upon us – just mere months later! [Crying emoji heart emoji screaming emoji]
The Circle season 3 will arrive on Wednesday, September 8 (yes, you read that right – we weren’t kidding about the so soon thing), with an all-new cast and the promise of even more twists and turns than last season’s outing. The show follows a group of contestants, each of whom is isolated within their own apartment and only allowed to communicate with each other via the titular Circle, a faux social media app that gives them the chance to group chat, upload photos, private message one another, and more.
Over the course of the season, the contestants compete in fun challenges, try to suss out potential catfish, and generally try to be their most appealing selves – all so they can become “influencers” – a.k.a. be voted most popular by the rest of the group – and block a fellow contestant from the app, thus eliminating them from the game.
Whether or not contestants decide to play as themselves or create new identities that they feel may win more people over is up to them. (I mean, a catfish did win season 2.)
Surprise: The Circle season 3 lands on Netflix in September
The Circle season 3 trailer promises that this round of the game will have more twists and surprises than ever before – and reveals that at least one of the contestants will be playing the game with a sibling. (Truly, why do people do this? It never works.)
The Circle season 3 premieres Wednesday, September 8, with batches of new episodes dropping Wednesday, September 15, and Wednesday, September 22. The finale will stream on Wednesday, September 29.
