Those crazy Staten Island vampires are back this fall and dealing with the aftermath of Nando’s familiar/resident human, Guillermo (Harvey Guillen), revealing that he’s a vampire killer in the explosive finale of What We Do in the Shadows’ second season.

They know that because, he basically took out an entire theater full of vampires to save his ungrateful crew Nandor the Relentless (the hilariously accented Kayvan Novak), Laszlo (Matt Berry), Nadja (Natasia Demetriou), and the energy-draining Colin Robinson (Mark Proksch), which all went down at the Nouveau Théâtre des Vampires. I mean what did you expect from someone related to a Dutchman named Van Helsing?

FX just dropped the trailer for What We Do in the Shadows season 3 and it’s action-packed with lots of fast-paced chaos that we can… sink our teeth into (couldn’t resist, sorry).

First off, we see our trio of inept vampires has gotten themselves elevated in the vampiric power hierarchy, most likely thanks to Guillermo, the only competent member of the bunch. But who will emerge as the “supreme leader”? As always, my money’s on Nadja. Sadly, there’s no sign of her doppelganger doll (which I’m unhealthily obsessed with).

Nandor is undergoing a mid-life crisis of some sort (how do you even define that if you technically live forever?). Determined to find fulfillment beyond bloodlust and remembering his 37 ex-wives, Nandor’s existential crisis can only translate into a boundless well for hilarity. The trailer reveals Nandor joining a gym, awkwardly courting the front desk woman, and searching for greater meaning. At one point he asks Nadja, “Do you ever wonder if there’s more to this life than mindless killing and bloodlust?” (Of course, she doesn’t, are you crazy?)

Oh, and Colin Robinson will be turning 100, which I’m guessing is pretty young in the vampire world? And he’s also on fire, which of course doesn’t bother him, like at all.

Will Nadja take over the Vampiric Counsel? Will Nandor find love? Will they finally appreciate Guillermo? Will Colin get excited about something? Will Mark Hamill come back to guest staar again? Well, probably no, but maybe (always keeping my fingers crossed on that one)? However, no Jackie Daytona this season so that’s a bummer:

There’s so much to unravel in What We Do in the Shadows season 3! Here’s the full synopsis released by FX:

"After the shocking season two finale, we find the housemates in a panic about what to do with Guillermo after discovering that he is a vampire killer. This season, the vampires are elevated to a new level of power and will encounter the vampire from which all vampires have descended, a tempting Siren, gargoyles, werewolf kickball, Atlantic City casinos, wellness cults, ex-girlfriends, gyms and supernatural curiosities galore. Plus, Colin Robinson is turning 100. And Nandor, faced with his own eternal-life crisis, tries to inject his life with more meaning. Will he find love or is he destined to be an immortal bachelor with 37 ex-wives?"

I’m definitely here for the werewolf kickball.

FX also announced that What We Do in the Shadows has already been renewed for a fourth season, which will premiere in 2022. Hurrah for that!

“Fans can’t seem to get enough of What We Do in the Shadows and FX is ready to feed that appetite by setting up the series for a fourth season,” said Nick Grad, President, Original Programming, FX Entertainment, said in a statement. “Our thanks to the extraordinary job by the creative team, cast and crew who keep making a great show better each season.”

The third season of What We Do in the Shadows premiers on FX on Thursday, September 2, at 10 p.m. ET. Season 3 will feature 10 episodes, including the first two– ”The Prisoner” and “The Cloak of Duplication”—on the premiere night. Both episodes will then be available the next day via FX on Hulu.
