Like other shows, Riverdale has not always succeeded in giving all its main characters a chance to interact and create distinctive relationships. But, that does not mean that Jughead Jones and Veronica Lodge lack a connection

Throughout the series, Jughead and Veronica’s relationships with Archie, Betty, and Cheryl have each grown individually. However, Veronica and Jughead have not been given the same chances or screen time to develop their dynamic.

Their relationship is tied to Archie and Betty, and without the influence of their mutual friends, Jughead and Veronica do not have much of a reason to spend time together. They did work together at times, but overall, Riverdale did not create many opportunities for Veronica and Jughead to create or explore a bond for themselves.

Granted, the duo were given some one-on-one scenes over the years. Jughead was even the one to encourage Veronica to give Hiram a chance in season 2. But, while they have spent plenty of time on opposite sides of an argument, Veronica and Jughead can be a more powerful force if they worked together.

Of all the main characters, Jughead and Veronica have had some of the least to do with each other, even if they share the same people in common. However, Veronica and Jughead’s dynamic is a storyline Riverdale has not really focused on and should highlight more often.

While things between them may have been surrounded by conflict during their high school years, Riverdale’s time jump gives Jughead and Veronica a chance to forge a stronger bond, as adults.

As it had been years since they had seen each other, this gives Riverdale the chance to dive into a relationship that could benefit from sharing time. It could even do plenty of good for the series to tell stories featuring a different combination of characters.

Veronica and Jughead can explore a more exciting dynamic, whether it be as friends, enemies, or unlikely allies. In addition, there is room for character and relationship development with them that would be intriguing given their history.
