Marvel’s What If…?, Diary of a Future President season 2, and everything headed to Disney+ in August

The sun is setting on summer, but Disney+ is bringing subscribers a few more exciting releases before August comes to a close. Those looking to stay inside, crank up the AC, and watch something from the House of Mouse have plenty to choose from.

The release that’s going to have people talking all through August is Marvel’s What If…?, the first animated series to come out of Marvel Studios — though it’s unlikely to be the last.

On the heels of Loki‘s reality-shaking season finale, What If…? will explore alternate scenarios throughout the multiverse. It will ask questions like, “What if T’Challa was taken by the Ravagers instead of Peter Quill?” and “What if Loki wasn’t adopted?” Judging by the trailer, the show will prove a fun addition to Marvel’s lineup.

Of course, if trippy superhero stories aren’t really your jam, the second season of Diary of a Future President also arrives on Disney+ this month. The 10-episode season will see Elena Cañero-Reed (Tess Romero) entering the 7th grade and using the challenges of middle school to push her toward her goal of becoming president of the United States.

In addition to the streamer’s new releases, Disney+ also continues its summer series throughout August. New episodes of Monsters at Work, Marvel Studios Legends, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and Turner & Hooch will drop all month. That’s not all that’s headed our way either.
